Many years ago, I helped write a youth musical presentation called, “He’s My Brother . . . She’s My Sister.” While this original musical was directed and put on by the youth in our church, the message applies to people of all ages. We all need to look at everyone around us as a brother or a sister and reach out to them in love. We all have times of doubt, confusion, or stress in our lives. When we are feeling weak, we need to lean on those who are strong. When we are strong, we need look around to see who might need our friendship and kindness to help them through the difficult times in their lives. We need each other.

He’s My Brother . . . She’s My Sister

At last the time has come
When all the growing youth,
Reach out a helping hand
To let all people know the truth.

We’re offering real fellowship
That builds eternal bonds
Through sacrifice and service
As we guide our friends along.

For she’s my sister
And he’s my brother
Now as we go from day to day
We need each other.

We know the Lord would gladly leave
His flock of ninety-nine
To rescue one lost wanderer
And bring him back in time.

Together we will fight for truth
In perfect unity
With love and understanding
Fill our destiny.

For she’s my sister,
And he’s my brother.
Now as we reach and climb and grow
We need each other.

And as we grow
We need each other.

For he’s my brother
We’ll grow together.
Love one another.
We need each other!
